The Justice Ishaq Bello-led Anambra governorship election tribunal panel yesterday fixed February 25, 2014 for ruling on whether or not to join the gubernatorial candidate of the Maxi Okwu-led faction of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Dr. Chike Obidigbo in the petitions pending before it.
Obidigbo had through his counsel filed a petition at the tribunal claiming that he was the rightful candidate nominated by APGA for the November 16, 2013 governorship election and that he won the said election.
But counsel to other parties affected had before yesterday had a composite argument that Obidigbo was a stranger in the matter. However, before the adjournment of the matter for ruling yesterday, counsel to Obidigbo, Oba Maduabuchi had addressed the tribunal on point of law giving a composite reply to the addresses of counsel to other parties in the petition.
He posited that those opposed to his client’s application for a joinder have nothing to lose if he was joined, but that the Applicant/Respondent has everything to lose if he was not joined.
