Speechless:Gov.Oshiomole Why?

He was a human right advocate and crusader. He fought for the oppressed masses and said NO to evil and bad governance. He was the darling of all during his tenure as the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President.

Nigerians loved him, more especially his Edo people where he is currently serving his 2nd term tenure as the state governor.

So what could have made him to tell a widow :”GO AND DIE IF YOU ARE A WIDOW”even when he is a widower himself? I disbelieved the story when i saw it trending on the social media earlier today till i watched the video itself and am yet to recover from the shock. Am totally speechless! is this what power can turn someone into?

I am not in support of the widow violating the rules by hawking on the streetnot at all. He can always admonish her, cease her wares or any other punishment but not to openly, cruelly and unremorsefully tell her to GO AND DIE! Chaiiii,my eyes are filled with tears.

Gov. Oshiomole, you were amongst the governors i love most and held in high esteem WHY WHY WHY? Why give room for your detractors and foes and even friends alike to run you down? Your name is now on the lips of everyone. WHY?

November 29, 2013

Edo PDP watched with consternation Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s brutal, inhuman and merciless treatment of a widow street-trader whose wares he ordered seized and who he unfeelingly told to ‘…go and die’ even as she knelt down in fervent protestations and appeals to his pity on a helpless widow.

The governor’s actions are appalling, insensate, disgraceful, indecent, cruel and below board. It is clear that he does not care much about the well being of the people as he pretentiously avowed. Our hearts go to that hapless widow in this her time of travails and through her, to other widows who have been oppressed by the unfriendly policies of the administration in Edo State.

The PDP, Edo State will not let any Edo person ‘to go and die’ if it can help it, especially not hardworking people like that widow who are engaged in lawful enterprises that are, in themselves, not easy to carry on. To this end, our party has instituted an endowment fund for all widows and oppressed people in the state and by this release, we invite the widow captured in the video of the encounter with Governor Oshiomhole to come to the PDP Secretariat on No. 70, Sapele Road, at 11am on Tuesday December 3, 2013 to receive a first-installment sum of N250,000.00 to cushion the pain, trauma and loss occasioned by her mistreatment and the seizure of the items she sells.

Governance is about the people and as a responsible National Institution, Edo PDP cannot be unconcerned about the wrong treatment of indigenes of the state to whom the present administration promised heaven just to win their votes. We will continue to stand in the gap to ensure that Edo people are deservedly fairly treatment

If Governor Oshiomhole believes that Edo People sinned by voting him into office, let him remember that he will account for his actions, if not to the people because he apparently does not think much of them, but to God Almighty in the short or long run.

We thank all those who have been humanely concerned about the plight of the widow and have stood out vehemently against the crying shame that was the insensitive action of a governor who seems bent on repaying electoral favor with ingratitude.

Chief Dan Osi Orbih

Chairman, PDP

Edo State.

What measures had the goverment taken towards alleviating the plights and sufferings of widows, what about millions of jobless graduates and youths who had taken to hawking and other social vices in order to survive?

Our youths and mothers had taken to the street hawking to make ends meet without any hope or help from the government. Only the highly connected and IM can fetch a graduate a good job if not God. Let someone hear our cries. We need good jobs! We need skill Acquisations and empowerments! We are tired of wallowing in poverty in a rich nation like ours!
This widow’s plight is really an eye opener!

You are the sunlight in my day,
You are the moon I see far away.
You are the tree I lean upon,
You are the one that makes troubles be gone.
You are the one who taught me life,
How not to fight, and what is right.
You are the words inside my song,
You are my love, my life, my mom.
You are the one who cares for me,
You are the eyes that help me see.
You are the one who knows me best,
When it’s time to have fun and time to rest.
You are the one who has helped me to dream,
You hear my heart and you hear my screams.
Afraid of life but looking for love,
I’m blessed for God sent you from above.
You are my friend, my heart, and my soul
You are the greatest friend I know.
You are the words inside my song,
You are my love, my life, my Mom.

We love and cherish you! ! 5th September 2009 is still the darkest day in our lives, when your sun sets!

R.I.P:Nigerian Man Meets Untimely Death After Having A Row With Wife

A Nigerian man was killed on a motorway after getting out of a car on the way to the airport following a row with his wife over their credit card.

Nahinmu Nicholas had stormed out of the Ford Focus with his suitcases, saying he was going to hitch-hike to Heathrow, but was knocked down by a lorry in the morning darkness.

His wife had pulled over on what they both thought was the hard shoulder of the M25, not realising that it was a live lane because of roadworks. A coroner was told that lorry driver Martin Hook was unable to avoid Mr Nicholas as he suddenly caught sight of him.

His 13-tonne bread lorry also struck the couple’s car in the accident just six minutes after they had stopped on the clockwise carriageway of the M25 at junction 6 for Godstone, Surrey, at around 4.30am on April 10.

Florence Olokun-Ola told the inquest in Woking, Surrey, that her husband was going to Nigeria alone for 12 days and that the fight started because she wanted their bank card while he was away. ‘The argument became very aggressive and his voice changed,’ she added.

Mrs Olokun-Ola, who had earlier told how financial problems had caused tension in their relationship, said she no longer felt comfortable driving and pulled over to what she thought was the hard shoulder.

She added: ‘He took off his seat belt. As soon as the car stopped he took the keys and opened the boot and took out his luggage. He put it by the crash barrier.’

In an attempt to get her husband back in the car Mrs Olokun-Ola drove forward a bit, but he started to walk back down the carriageway trying to thumb a lift.

Then she felt the force of the collision as the lorry struck the rear of her car.

‘I got out the car and at first I was angry because he didn’t come running over to see if I was okay,’ she said. She then discovered her husband’s body and ran back to the car to dial 999.

Mr Hook said he was travelling through the roadworks at 50mph. ‘The next thing I knew was there was a dark shadow in front of me,’ he added. ‘I turned straight away to the centre of the carriageway.’

A post-mortem examination concluded that Mr Nicholas died as a result of severe head injuries.

Accident reconstruction officer PC Dominic Gibson said that the stretch of the M25 where the accident happened was unlit. He said there were signs warning that the hard shoulder was now a live lane.

Assistant Surrey Coroner Michael Burgess recorded a verdict that Mr Nicholas, of Dartford, Kent, died as a result of a road traffic collision.

The baby in the picture is Halle Onyinyechi Ikejimba, she is 6 months old and currently lives in Calabar, Nigeria with her mum.

Halle has a rare and life-threatening childhood liver disease called Biliary Atresia. The condition affects approximately 1 in 16,000 infants shortly after birth. Biliary Atresia is not hereditary. There is no known cause and there is no cure. The best procedure to save this child’s life will be by Liver transplant and finding a donor can take forever, which is why many children die of this chronic illness. However, in Halle’s case we thank God that her mother out of the love for her daughter will be donating part of her own liver to save the little girl’s life.

The surgery has been arranged to take place in the UK, but the family cannot afford the estimated #6.000.000 (six million naira) required for the surgery. This amount of money will cover the cost of surgery, accommodation, feeding and transportation for both mother and daughter.

We are therefore pleading with the state and federal government of Nigeria. The good people of Nigeria to assist in saving this little girl’s life. With your help, we can give her an opportunity to survive and live a normal life like other children.

Baby Halle hardly sleep due to pain from her chest. Her parents heart are broken and they need your help. Imagine a mother watching her daughter going through pains and there is nothing she could do to help. Halle will die if a transplant is not carried out. Finding a donor is hard but thank God we have a donor, but we do need your help to raise the money involved.

No amount is too small as every little helps, please the family needs your financial help and prayers now.

We have attached a copy of her hospital report from University teaching hospital Ile-Ife where she had her first heart surgery. The doctors confirmed her liver had damaged and will require a tThe contact details for donation;
